I was the little girl who changed outfits 5 times a day.
My mother recalls me saying: “I just don’t feel like wearing this anymore.” Sometimes change is good. I was also the little girl who had all my clothes, earrings, shoes and accessories picked out the night before. I loved feeling put together and organized. That organization and design lives on with me today. I think really hard about sharing my label maker.
As I grew older my passion was found in the professional dance world. I have performed professionally in NYC and across the country. I recall other dancers asking for help with their false eyelashes and thought, “hmm, this is fun!” Being a makeup artist was always in the back of my mind but was put on hold as I pursued my professional dance career. As a dancer, I would throw on heavy makeup and a smile and love every minute of it. My dance career then led me to other movement avenues, as I’m also a certified Pilates Instructor and a Master Trainer in the GYROTONIC® Expansion System.
It was after my own wedding and a 1 week makeup course that the makeup seed came alive again. After many fearful tears, sleepless nights and a supportive husband, we relocated to NYC so I can pursue my passion of makeup artistry. I am a graduate of the master program at the prestigious MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy in NYC. I am trained in Beauty, Fashion, Film, TV, Theater, and Artistic Face and Body Painting. While in NYC, I assisted the key makeup artist for the following magazines: Twelv, Cosmopolitan, and Seventeen.
I am currently living in Washington DC and would love to work together!
Fun facts:
- I have a dog named Gracie. I hate that our names rhyme.
- I love Italian food and sushi.
- I’m from the Midwest and don’t mind the snow and cold. I hate Washington DC humidity.
- Therefore, I love fuzzy socks and I often wear a scarf even if it’s 80 degrees out.
- I’ve been told I have an accent.
- I will see Cirque du Soleil shows whenever possible. It’s inspiring!
- I think chocolate should always be followed with a crunchy pretzel.
- Monaco is my maiden name. Sometimes people know me as: Tracy Monaco Reid, Tracy Reid, or Tracy Monaco. It’s still me!
